People at iRaspberryPi feel that their community is India’s most innovative group for those interested in Raspberry Pi and it’s applications. They conduct regular Meet-Ups, and have recently started conducting targeted workshops that focus on specific devices, technologies, projects, all around Open Hardware and IoT Based devices such as the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc.
The meet-up is a friendly, open for all ages, and focused at beginners as well as intermediate learners of RaspberryPi.
The workshop is on how to use PubNub, python, and the Raspberry Pi together to come one step closer to prototyping for IoT. The more technical takeaway for the workshop is as below:
• A glimpse on electronics, components and sensors
• Cool things that one can build with Raspberry Pi
• The ease to stream realtime data from the Pi to a browser
People worked in groups of 3, and the community has provided all the necessary equipment for the workshop. In order to participate in the hands-on, the only equipment that the attendees had to bring were:
- Power Cable
- SD Card
- Ethernet Cable
Nayan and Rakesh has come down with tens of RaspberryPi kits to provide a hands-on experience to every attendee.
People started off with using PubNub and getting insights about it. Nayan and Rakesh helped them to work on their idea to build a prototype. They attendees were divided in to groups of 4. The hacking and making started as soon as the ideation session concluded. People were up with creative yet brilliant ideas. The event concluded with a plan for the next workshop and the technologies that they are going to discuss in the next event.
When? 12th March 2016
