Storytelling Workshop by Storywallahs

Collab House, in association with Storywallahs, hosted a storytelling workshop on the 8th of October. Nupur Aggarwal from Storywallahs was the facilitator.

The workshop was focused on learning to tell stories to children. The participants learned why storytelling is the most powerful form of communication and how stories can be structured. They also understood how to give voice to a story and how to hook the listeners to their stories by using props, gest, and expressions.

It was a 6-hour long workshop. There were teachers, parents, and enthusiasts. By the end of the day, each participant discovered their personal style of storytelling.

Nupur shared some great insights on storytelling, some of which are ‘Stories can teach us empathy’ and ‘Stories help us understand and subdue hatred’.

A big year of big impact

At Collab House, we’re building a new self-sustaining local collaborative community centre – one which act as a hub that engage, educate, empower and enable individuals, communities and organizations to make impact. A hub of activity for anyone with an independent skill or project and a space for those who seek a chance to build great things alongside the city’s best and brightest. We work to build spaces that are open to anyone with something to share, make or say.

It’s amazing that just in less than a year and half, Collab House has grown to more than 4,000 supporting community of hackers, makers, entrepreneurs, designers – people like you. We engaged thousands of people through our various online  and offline initiatives.

It’s incredible: together we have helped create a local movement of people who believe in Collaboration. We should all have access to resources and community to grow and make impact.

This movement is growing, and so is our capacity to make impact. Just take a look at what we did together in 2015:

  •                        We helped with community outreach for Vodafone NASSCOM Foundation Mobile for Good Awards, MakerFest, InnoFest, TEDxHyderabad, Hacker Summit, JNTU EXCITE, Crowdfunding Deep Impact, Design Summit.

  •                        We built & support communities around Art, Maker, Startup, Technology and more. We brought global initiatives like XPRIZE Hyderabad, Startup Grind Hyderabad, Mozilla Hyderabad, CodeDojo Hyderabad to the city.

  •                        We launched Hyderabad’s first public Makerspace, and online platform – MakerClub. We launched MakerClub.in to help people across India become informed creators of things they love and excel in their creativity.

  •                        We made our presence at global events like Web Summit(Dublin), Mozilla Festival(London).

  •                        We incubated early stage startups focused on Education and Technology

At Collab House we believe that people need essential skills for understanding and harnessing the potential of the ecosystem. Solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems are being built through collaboration. The more minds we can put on those solutions, the better off we will all be. In 2015, Collab House invested and partnered in projects across domains to help more people harness the power of the technology.
